Our Process

The Roblee Foundation has two funding cycles per year.  Organizations may only apply once per calendar year. Application deadlines for each cycle are listed below. If the date falls on a weekend, the deadline is the next business day.

  • Friday, February 14, 2025 at 11:59 pm central time (if funded, grants deposited early July)

  • Friday, August 1 , 2025 at 11:59 pm central time (if funded, grants deposited in December)

Applicants can submit their proposal information through an online portal. Click here to access the portal. If you have any problems accessing the portal please, contact Laura Horwitz at laura.horwitz@robleefoundation.org.

The Roblee Board reviews all of the preliminary proposal submitted through the grants management system to determine which requests align most closely with the Foundation’s funding priorities. Six to seven weeks after the submission deadlines, the ED contacts all of the applicants to notify them if their request will advance to the second round of consideration. Organizations that don’t progress to the second round can submit requests in the next calendar year.

At this point the ED arranges an in-person or zoom meeting with the organizations that advance to the second round of consideration to learn more about the plans described in the request. The organization should expect to provide financial statements or a recent financial audit.

The board meets in early June and mid-November to consider the requests that have advanced to the second round. The ED will notify organizations about the board’s decision regarding their request in mid to late June and late November to early December, respectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF GRANT RECIPIENTS
Grants shall be used solely for the purposes and for the period of time outlined in the proposal, unless the Grantee has received permission from the Foundation. Grantees are required to submit a complete evaluation and financial report at the conclusion of the grant period through the online portal.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
First time applicants to the foundation are required to call foundation staff (314-963-7713) to explore your project’s funding potential. It is recommended that organizations that have not received funding in the previous five years also meet with foundation staff to discuss fit with funding criteria before applying.
